Time for another Flicks one-off email to our Firefox & You list! This time it's all about watching the vids and voting!

This one should have a different graphic and layout, but should be similar in feel of our other one-off emails (ie: https://bug885056.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=772721&t=hUqNf9PNQZ )

Do you know if there is any finalized copy for this email? I am currently working out the layout with lorem ipsum, but would like to place the actual copy to get the proper spacing down.

Hey Matt,

I just commented in Bug 893132 to see how the copy's going. So far I haven't seen a draft copy doc. We should have final copy by the 25th. 

If you'd like/if it's be helpful, you can attach the mockup here with the lorem ipsum place holder text and I can start to give feedback?

If you'd rather wait for draft copy (hoping to get this tomorrow?) - that's 100% cool too. We have a *little* wiggle room on this deadline since the email is EN only.

Thanks Jess.  I would prefer to wait it out, since the amount of copy could affect the layout I have. But other than that I have a base layout ready to go!  I'll keep an eye out for when copy is ready.

Hi guys, here is a v1 for the one-off email layout for Flicks.  This is based off of the new option 1 copy. Pretty simple, making use of a carousel style layout for the header.

Here is what I am thinking for a v2 option. This is based off of the new option 2 copy.  This one makes use of the Flicks logo as the main image. Let me know if you think either of these options will work!

I'm a fan of the Option 1 layout with the people and the message overlaid.

Quick questions/edits:

1) Can you create a light blue background version that uses the Firefox & You blue?

2) Will the main image resize to 325px wide and still look okay? (on mobile)

3) Cut some of the blue width for the button to make it no more than 325px wide.

Hey Jess, I've attached an example of what the header looks like at a width of 325px, I still think it keeps its over all look at that size. What do you think?

MT - that looks great. My only concern is how the text looks over it. (You can't do background images in email HTML.)

If the image text doesn't re-size nicely with the image itself (think of them as 1 image) - do you have other ideas for a layout?

Let me know what you think of the changes I've made based on your requests.  
Not sure if what I did to grey out the background images is what you are referring to, but I've darkened the overlay so that the text on top would stand out more.

The headline definitely stands out more! :D 

If you didn't want to darken the whole image, maybe you can try to just darken the area behind the words and slowly have it get lighter to the outside edges of the image? (Does that make sense?)
