In release 0.9.2 (I'm using the RPM from mozilla.org, on my Redhat 7.1) I'm
having a problem that I didn't notice on release 0.9.1: once in a while while
loading a page Mozilla just hangs. It doesn't seem to be hogging the CPU, but it
stops doing anything - including refreshing any windows it might have open (so
if obscured, it is not refreshed when the window comes back to the top).
I've been getting these "hangs" for various pages, but an example I can recreate
is go to http://www.scorch2000.com/ and click the "play 640x480".

This example is Java, so this problem might have something to with Java - but
note that I can see other Java pages properly (I installed the jre.xpi from
netscape.com), and besides, even if the Java plugin hangs I don't think it is
advisable for mozilla as a whole to hang. (but I have no idea if it's even Java
related... sorry, I don't know how to even start to debug this...)
That page works for me on linux 0.9.2
Works For Me on linux build 2001070116.
nyh@math.technion.ac.il : can you please test this page again in one of the
newer nightly builds and see if it is still hanging?

You can get a new nightly build from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/

Please report back here with your results so that we can process your bug! And
thanks for helping test Mozilla!
I using the 0.9.2 RPM, and so a bit hesitant on installing the .tar.gz
distributions, in fear of making a mess of everything...

But anyway, I've done some further research, and I now believe that this hangups
occur for me on most (if not all) pages that contain Java, and that disabling
Java support stops the hangs (though, obviously, also stops the pages from
showing Java).
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this problem on other people's machines
suposedly with the same Mozilla 0.9.2 and jre 1.3 (jre.xpi), so I'll mark this
bug as WorksForMe (although it doesn't ;)) until I can find a more concrete and
reproducable test-case. Sorry.
