the installer window just refreshes when the progressbar is updated. that's about all four seconds. my system: suse linux 7.0 gnome 1.2 sawfish ?
Simon, could you be a bit more specific? 1. What build were you using? 2. Does this still happen on newer builds from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/ 3. Be more specific about what is happening, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by refreshing when the progressbar is updated. What is it supposed to do?
Ok, I've seen this too with every build I've ever installed. Install Window only get refreshed when new data arrives to your system. A good way to see this is doing: 1) Start an installation. 2) Wait until some data arrives 3) Switch to a new virtual desktop and return fast to the first one (the one that contains installation window) 4) if your connection sucks, you have not received new data, so you get a blank window instead of the installation window. Hope it helps.
Summary: installer windows has too long to refresh → Installer windows does not redraw itself correctly.
This appears to be an issue still. Couldn't find a dupe.

No reply to comment #5 in over 4 years. There is no installer anymore on Linux trunk builds. Would have been WFM, is now INVALID.
