Details

0) With Australis Nightly...
1) Open a new tab group (click "Group your tabs", double click on background)
2) Open two new tabs and go to some url (I chose apple.com and google.com)
3) Open tab group screen (click "Group your tabs")
4) Drag the second tab out to a new tab group
5) Click to open the first tab in the first tab group

Expected: In the tab bar, only the first tab (apple.com, in my case) is present.

Actual: In the tab bar, both tabs (apple.com and google.com, in my case) are present. Functionally, ctrl-shift-tab's behavior is also broken, causing you to jump to the second tab group when you open the tab that is visible in the first tab group but should only be present in the second tab group.

This does not occur in stable (22), I have not tried the current Nightly outside of UX.
Component: Theme → Panorama
Please try to reproduce in nightly, I don't think it's likely this is an Australis regression.

It seems you are correct - this also occurs in Nightly.
No longer blocks: australis-tabs

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs.

If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality.

See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info.

We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
