Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130627161504 Steps to reproduce: Hi, I have been directed here to open a bug regarding the official Mozilla Thunderbird Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Thunderbird?fref=ts As I understand it, the previous administrator of this page has moved on, and for many months the content and moderation duties for the page have stagnated. For example, there are a number of old, repeated posts (most recent is November 2012), and a certain amount of abusive content & spam which has not been cleared. Would it not be possible to contact Facebook and have the admin credentials for this page reset or reassigned? I am happy to contribute myself, but I do not think it reflects well on the project, and is frustrating to observe for folks who are now taking a more active community involvement in Thunderbird (such as myself). Actual results: Mozilla Thunderbird Facebook page is loaded with old posts, spam, abusive content. Expected results: Mozilla Thunderbird Facebook should be kept up to date and abusive content etc. moderated.

This is not a PR bug, but please let me know if I can help. I suggest contacting the TB or social media teams.

I'm working with Anne-Marie on this, I'm currently getting an account set up to myself, then I should be able to share ownership.

I don't know if there's been any further progress on this, but I continue to see a tonne of useful Thunderbird information not making it to the Facebook page. Extensions, news on beta releases and tests, and the Planet Thunderbird site to name some examples. The "Likes" for the Facebook page continue to climb, so it's a real missed opportunity not to be using it to engage with the 17,300+ folks who have subscribed to the page thus far. I am super keen to help out livening up the page if Mark or someone is comfortable with delegating some of this housework to me.

Hello Dave, Although I cannot add people in I do not see why it would hurt to have another contributor but this would be up to Mark Banner. It took awhile to get things transitioned which is why there was a delay but things should be moving along nicely now that Summit is over. If you would like to chat I'm in #Thunderbird on IRC or you can e-mail me. Thanks!

Instead of marking this INVALID, we should just assign to Mark.
Please get this done. I'm happy that Dave is willing and seems qualified. Enthusiasm is something that needs to be taken when it comes.Status: RESOLVED → REOPENED

Awesome. FWIW we also have spreadthunderbird fb group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/57181164056/ where 5 of us are administrators - myself, ludo, atul, gary kwong, and Ian Hayward. But this is a course of the larger spread* effort, which is defunct in mozilla.

Also we should kill and redirect the spread page to the "new, live and kicking page"

Also we should kill and redirect the spread page to the > "new, live and kicking page" There is actually currently three admins and two editors. Admins as of last conversation Anne-Marie had with teams inside Mozilla can only be employees. I am just an editor and also the SOP from whomever Anne-Marie was working with was basically only Add-On's and some blog posts could be shared to FB.
