What version of Lightning are you running? You may need the Development version.
I am using Lightning 2.5b2, suggested by SeaMonkey. When I run into this problem with SeaMonkey 2.19, I went back to a 2.18 version with corresponding Lightning version and I got the calendar working. When 2.20 came I thought maybe this bug was fixed, but no, it wasn't.

Which translation (language) are you using? As I understand the error message, it appears to me that event.until.label hasn't been defined for your locale.
(In reply to rsx11m from comment #3) > Which translation (language) are you using? As I understand the error > message, it appears to me that event.until.label hasn't been defined for > your locale. By the looks of it, it is sv-SE as bredband.net is a Swedish ISP The last update for that locale seems to be from October 2012 for Lightning.

It's Swedish all right. I have been using SeaMonkey/Lightning for 7 months and it worked fine until version 2.19.
Cc:ing the Calendar and SeaMonkey localizers.
It seems the string is not available: http://mxr.mozilla.org/l10n-mozilla-beta/search?string=event.until.label&find=sv-SE Philipp, is it possible that sign-offs were broken again and incomplete languages were packaged into Lightning 2.5b2?
Even worse, we have a big problem with how the sign offs work. Now that we are on Thunderbird infra, its using Thunderbird's sign-offs. Using calendar sign-offs makes release automation very complicated, requiring calendar for thunderbird is a too big step so late in the game, and asking localizers to sign off on Thunderbird for calendar might confuse them. I'm discussing this with Pike and Mark right now, happy to hear any input from anyone else too. Personally I think asking them to sign off on Thunderbird is easiest.
Seamonkey 2.20b (build 20130721212612) w/Russian language and Lightning 2.5b2 The same error occurs while new event creation (Google calendar).
It seems to be the problem is in the language pack (Russian in my case). Because of that English version of Lightning addon works fine!
This may need a different bug for each language, but considering comment #8, there seems to be a larger issue that needs to be fixed to detect such omissions.
Does the problem still exists using the Lightning 2.6b1 builds? Or were the correct translations used during package creation?
When using SeaMonkey 2.20 Swedish the system chose Lightning 2.5b2. When I try to load 2.6b1 I get the message that this version is not compatible with 2.20. I am currently using 2.20 English version with no problem. Let me know when I safely can switch to Swedish.
Could you please retest Swedish localization with official Lightning 2.6 beta2 and Thunderbird 24 beta2 builds (or SeaMonkey 2.21 beta if already available)?
With SeaMonkey 2.21 beta and Lightning 2.6 beta2, it works. I can now create new items in the calendar. The calendar is of course still in English while everything else in the mail client is in Swedish. But that is just a cosmetic issue, it just doesn't look that nice. Thanks anyway for fixing the non-functionality.
With SeaMonkey 2.21 (Russian language) and Lightning 2.6 , it works fine!
