Additionally, I will spread this bug to everyone I know and then everyone they know, etc. Creating new bug reports until Mozilla returns the functionality to the way it used to be. THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR. Doing informal, invite-only polls are stupid and not statistically accurate. Removing the expected behavior of a UI is against UI design principles and causes jarring issues with user experience. I have not seen, nor do I expect, web apps to capture the escape key. Constructive solution: Make it an option in About: Config.

Hi Curt, it looks like this is a duplicate of bug 825486. Creating new bug reports for this is probably not going to have good results. Have you tried using SuperStop and Keyconfig as is suggested in bug 825486?

I won't install additional plugins (2!) to provide the simple functionality that should be there to begin with.

Reopening bugs won't magically change what has been decided in Bug 825486.

Whoa, wait a minute. I'm sorry, credit AND THANKS goes to Matthew Turnbull [Bluefang] in comment 30. Don't click the links for the comments in my two posts here because they are linked to THIS bug, bug 894895.

This is not a solution. Thanks, but installing 2 plugins to do what was NATIVE is the dumbass solution of the year.
