STR: 1. Load https://etherpad.mozilla.org/qa-staff-meeting 2. Make whitespace or just type updates 3. Rinse, lather, repeat Actual Results: We get disconnected, and have to reconnect
unfortunately there is little we can do in this case. the only times i see disconnects are when pads are left idle in my browser for long(ish) amounts of time or if there are local network issues on my end. are one of these possibilities here? a connection error like you describe shouldn't be specific to a single pad, but the entire etherpad environment - ie. all pads.
Severity: critical → normal
As Chris said in c#1 there is nothing we can really do about this. Upvote developer time to fix etherpad light. You might try creating a new pad and pasting in the contents. This is unfortunately the only "solution" we have.

Most commonly this seems to happen when pads get abnormally large... not in # of lines, but in # of revisions. This pad had just over 100k revisions. One way you can tell things are getting out of hand (beyond this exact issue) is that the "Time Slider" stops working and starts throwing "500 ISE" errors. I have deleted the pad and recreated it, copying in the current contents. It's like-new. Let us know if this doesn't make things better.

Jakem, just so you know... I've seen it with both with the large number of lines as well as large number of revisions and the large number of users.

And that's also another reason we split our meeting pads by month...to be safe.
