history in URL windows got corrupted

Details
Working with Mozilla 2001070504, Windows ME in Spanish.
When trying to display the history in the URL window clicking the down arrow,
the whole window increases in size and remains blank totally inoperative. In you
go to the side bookmark window and clik on any bookmark, it is displayed but the
bad condition remains : a huge URL innoperative windows. The only way I found to
reestablish the normal condition is to go to help/about mozilla and the URL
window is restored as normal , but if I try again to see the history, the above
bug reapears.
