mid-air not notified when commenting, changes overwritten

It's a couple days that I noticed I'm not being notified mid-air, I just commented in a bug and overwrote a blocked bugs change and a title change.
Gavin noticed similar issues yesterday.
Could this be related to recent landings?

the bug I wrongly overwrote was bug 896025, if that may be useful.
even if i run mod_perl with a single worker, which guarantees that it's hitting the per-process caches, i still always get a mid-air :|
i've also tried messing around with a firefox session restore between loading the bug and updating it.
i don't see any recent changes in or around the mid-air code either.
odd.
Closing as we don't have a recent reproduction of this.
