One of the crucial steps will be to have the x-ray goggles publish not just its data to db, but to also generate a make, tied to the user's webmaker acccount.

done. Using the same code as Thimble automatically gave us makes, we just had to change the application identifier to x-x-ray-goggles. Default styling on the webmaker.org site has also landed to enable this.
