Details
We could use a field in the database to enable automatic status switching from Scheduled to Pending to remove events from the site after a predetermined date.

Needs a cron job that finds all events with a "removal date" that is past and still is scheduled.

I would second Richard's suggestion. Better to archive the older events rather than delete them. A periodic review and deletion to free up space can be implemented as a separate process.

Lawrence,
We use the word "Removed" to mean a status on the event. It does not mean "delete". A removed event that once had a valid URL is now a 404 Page Not Found. And removed events don't appear in searches or tag filtering. But they're still in the system and can be found by the producers.

Peter, thanks. That was my understanding. Thought I should explicitly state that to be clear that I do not want old events automatically deleted. (I requested this capability from Richard.)

Richard, where would we edit this field? In the event manager event edit only?
