The validator should start detecting the following APIs: navigator.mozNotification https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/navigator.mozNotification https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/notification navigator.mozAlarms https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/WebAPI/Alarm SystemXHR https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/XMLHttpRequest#Non-standard_properties navigator.mozTCPSocket navigator.mozTCPServerSocket https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/TCPSocket https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/window.navigator.mozTCPSocket We should backfill buchet values for any existing packaged apps.
This is more of a devhub bug than a validator bug. The validator bits are easy and come second, the checkboxes and migration are going to be more challenging

Grr, basta - fine!
Priority: -- → P3
This should be done in tandem with bug 875415
Rob, how do we migrate to v2 of buchets when we add these APIs to the profiles? An example commit of how to do that would be phenomenal. Thanks!

Can you please add some STRs to this bug or mark it as [qa-] ?
robhudson: Do I recall you having some kind of tool for fiddling with feature profiles? I think that might be really useful here. Victor: This is a two-parter. 1. Check that the APIs in comment #0 show up alongside the ones in bug 875415 in the submission flow. Submit apps that use those APIs and check that they show up for devices that support them and don't show up for devices that don't. mozAlarms should show up on FXOS and not on Chrome. Have the app be installable to everything with the only minimum requirement being mozAlarms. That should be sufficient to test. 2. Check that the client generates the new feature profile. Open your console and run: require('buckets').get_profile() You should see a string of text that ends with ".45.2" (meaning 45 buchets, version 2).
It needs to be updated to match the latest version of the profiles but it's here: http://jsfiddle.net/robhudson/9PArz/ If you'd like to fork it and make the updates I'll roll them back into my version and be very appreciative. :)
Thanks Matt. I updated the base fiddle.
