We recently worked with the Creative team to produce these Firefox Marketplace call to action badges:

https://assets.mozillalabs.com/Projects/Firefox%20Marketplace/Badges/

These badges will be used by the Firefox OS apps developers to promote and share the link for the app download in Firefox Marketplace.

We want to offer a localized badge for your locale.

The first step is to provide a translation of the text on, this badge, the text is:

GET IT IN THE Firefox MARKETPLACE

You can look at the url above to see how this is rendered. You may have to adapt a bit the text so as to make it fit in the button. If the text layout on this button represents a challenge for your language, we can brainstorm here and tweak the text and/or the design to make the still button look good for your locale.

Once we have the string translated, we can ask the Designer to actually integrate your text in the button and check that it is correct (fonts /ex).

Thanks
Note: don't try to commit your localization to the .lang file (the repository is read only).

Please but your localization here in the bug and tell us when it can be considered final, we'll add it to the file.

Translation to Hungarian:
Szerezd be a Firefox Marketplace-ről
Does it work in uppercase like this?
SZEREZD BE A Firefox MARKETPLACE-RŐL
Yes, it does.

Hey there,

I have taken over the localization of these buttons as they are being added to the Affiliates program. And as such I have some of the direction that was missing from this bug.

The direction missing on how to localize marketplace is that the whole name "Firefox Marketplace" is a brand name and can't be altered. The way it was done, only Firefox was treated like a brand.

This is an example of how the brand team would like it treated, where the branding stays the same but, the words leading up to it change:

http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/badges.html

If you are interested, this is where we are tracking the design of the localized buttons:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=952618 and where we discovered the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this and thank you.

Best,
Chelsea

Well, it's sad to hear that the translation does not fit. Also the work "Marketplace-ről" is not really translated, this is just how we say "from Marketplace" - no prepostion at the beginning, but postposition at the end.

I guess we can do the same as with Android, that is:

Letöltés:
Firefox Marketplace

or in caps:
LETÖLTÉS:

This means Download: and it sounds lame-ish (especially that web based apps are not really "downloaded"), but leaves out the whole prepostion/postposition thing.

Another idea could be to use:
Beszerzés:
Firefox Marketplace

or
Szerezd be:
Firefox Marketplace

The former is formal, latter is informal, but both says "get it".

I guess I need more team opinion on this.
Team agreed on this:

Telepítse innen:
Firefox Marketplace

or in all caps:

TELEPÍTSE INNEN:

(literal translation: "Install from:")
string committed to the repo (in all caps) in r124623
Do you need other help from our side?
Graphic is going to be provided in the bug (probably next week, I've seen attachments in other bugs), so you'll need to check it.
Is there any update on this?
Sean will have a new button for you to review next week.
Do you have the buttons already?
No. The designer was pulled away for other work. Hopefully soon. Sorry about the delay.
CCing Sean, since this one has probably a problem (double ":")
Looks good, aside from the double colon.
Thanks.

Sean, can we fix this?

Clearing NI for now, I'll reopen as soon as I got all feedbacks.

Any update on it?
See bug 900060, we have a new format too, but we can't access the assets to check.
Can you please check the file for your locale and let us know if it's OK?

Hi Flod

I think it looks good enough, no spelling or other errors.
Flod,

Looks okay :) Thank you so much!
