We recently worked with the Creative team to produce these Firefox Marketplace call to action badges: https://assets.mozillalabs.com/Projects/Firefox%20Marketplace/Badges/ These badges will be used by the Firefox OS apps developers to promote and share the link for the app download in Firefox Marketplace. We want to offer a localized badge for your locale. The first step is to provide a translation of the text on, this badge, the text is: GET IT IN THE Firefox MARKETPLACE You can look at the url above to see how this is rendered. You may have to adapt a bit the text so as to make it fit in the button. If the text layout on this button represents a challenge for your language, we can brainstorm here and tweak the text and/or the design to make the still button look good for your locale. Once we have the string translated, we can ask the Designer to actually integrate your text in the button and check that it is correct (fonts /ex). Thanks
I can't imagine how they would fit, since all of our translations would begin with Firefox MARKETPLACE. Here are two translations anyway. Please note that there are dots on capital I's. Some examples: Firefox MARKETPLACE'ten EDİNİN Firefox MARKETPLACE'ten İNDİRİN
Dees, José, can you help Selim on an what alternate wording could work for the badge? This is an illustration of the word order problems that causes the layout? That text doesn't allow the design you thought of in Turkish. Thanks
What if we change the words sequence, something such as: "Firefox MARKETPLACE brings it to you", would be better? Thoughts?
It would translate as "Firefox MARKETPLACE ile karşınızda", but I don't like the sound of it and it still begins with Firefox MARKETPLACE. I guess you want the wording to end with Firefox MARKETPLACE, right?
Note: don't try to commit your localization to the .lang file (the repository is read only). Please but your localization here in the bug and tell us when it can be considered final, we'll add it to the file.
Francesco, please use this one: Firefox MARKETPLACE'ten EDİNİN
Updated in r118972. Let's keep the bug open until we can check the localized graphics.
No news in 4 months, marking this as invalid. Strings were stored and will be used if necessary.

This seems more like WONTFIX to me. (It was a valid request, but one that will never be fulfilled.) [Filter key: l10n-marketplace-badge-wontfix]

Hey there, I have taken over the localization of these buttons as they are being added to the Affiliates program. And as such I have some of the direction that was missing from this bug. The direction missing on how to localize marketplace is that the whole name "Firefox Marketplace" is a brand name and can't be altered. The way it was done, only Firefox was treated like a brand. This is an example of how the brand team would like it treated, where the branding stays the same but, the words leading up to it change: http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/badges.html If you are interested, this is where we are tracking the design of the localized buttons: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=952618 and where we discovered the issue. Please let me know if you have any questions about this and thank you. Best, Chelsea

Chelsea, We are already aware that Firefox Marketplace is a brand name and we have not altered it in our translations.
As you were then! :) Thank you. I will post the button here for your approval when it is complete.

Yes, it looks fine to me.
