User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130627161625 Steps to reproduce: When opening firefox (Alt+f2 then type "firefox http://localhost" in Linux Mint), the URL does not display in the address bar, instead it says Search or enter address. This stays in the URL bar until I create a new tab and navigate, use a link on the current page, or use the address bar to navigate. Actual results: When firefox loads, the address bar says "Search or enter address." instead of the website URL. Expected results: The website URL should appear.
Issue for all URLs or just localhost? Try localhost without http://. In addition, try with a clean profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

All URLs. I tested this in windows 7. Typeing Windows + R to get the run box. Then typing "firefox https://www.facebook.com". If (after hitting enter), you observe the address bar, the address bar says "Search or enter address" instead of "facebook.com". This changes after logging in (I do not have automatic login/redirect). This also changes if I make a new tab (either control + T or hitting the new tab button.

kucksdorfs, I wasn't able to replicate it. Are you still seeing the problem with Firefox 24?

I tried the firefox 24 beta (latest from the mozilla web page) on Ubuntu 13.04 and it appears to work as expected. I tried it on my Windows 7 x64 and it still doesn't work in the beta or the latest release. I am attaching a screenshot of what I am seeing (this is the beta version of firefox 24).

As you can see, I was trying to run firefox and launch facebook. The address bar is blank, when it should say "www.facebook.com".

Can you also reproduce this with your add-ons disabled?

I was not able to reproduce this with add-ons. I disabled all of my add-ons and then tried the process by enabling them one at a time. The culprit is the Jupiter Broadcasting Affiliate Redirect 0.7. I am going to attempt to contact the developer to see if they know about this issue. Thank you for all your help!
