User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130807030216 Steps to reproduce: • Enable plugins.click_to_play in about:config with the intention of having to click on a plugin to enable it. • Navigate to a video centric webpage that uses a lot of flash on every page (eg. youtube) with the intention of only using one flash element from the site at a time. • Click to watch a video on said site • Click again on a doorhanger now because firefox can't remember that I want to watch this video for one whole milisecond • Choose the lesser of two lousy options (allow now), and wish for the option to enable only the element I clicked on only on this tab only this time, and with one click • begin to watch video and worry about rouge flash elements on the page that are running without my permission now • Open another tab in the background of the same site Actual results: All flash on the site is now enabled, because we hate sanity. The background tab will begin to play without my consent, making my computer vulnerable to flash based attacks from that page and wasting CPU running flash in the background and polluting the current audio with a useless background audio track that I'm not currently watching. Rage and cardiac distress follow quickly. Expected results: There should be the option to require that every plugin on every tab regardless of site or visibility needs explicit approval, otherwise click to play is completely useless and we'll have to go back to using click to flash and the like.
