Expected results:

There should be the ability to store one or more e-mail certificates for a contact to be able to send encrypted s/mime e-mails to those using Gaia::E-Mail (also see #903320).

If a digitally sigend e-mail has been received, the included certificate should be added to the corresponding contact's certificates (if applicable and not yet present).

Interesting feature, pinging the contacts backend team, so far, as I remember there is no support for storing this in the API, but as I commented, sounds great to me.

Thanks,
F.
Why should this be handled by the contacts API and not the email app directly ?
We could decide to edit that information from the contacts app, import the certificate or even exporting it.
Since an email certificate belongs to a person/contact (actually it's bound to his'/hers e-mail address), I would expect it to be stored together with the email address. This seems to me as the most "natural" way.

Actually the idea is not my own. I was using "Foxmail" for a long time and in Foxmail the certificates were managed within the address book, which was quite handy.
But foxmail's address book is part of foxmail, right ?

Francisco> I don't exactly see the rationale to have it as part of the contacts app. I don't say I'm against it, but I want that we need this real hard before we do it.
For me (personally) and as user any other place is fine too. Just thought Gaia::Contacts would be the right component to assign this feature request to.

I leave it up to you, where you put it.

My main wish actually was #903320, but I thought it could help to break the problem down into partial todos.
Hi again, Wilfred do you think we should this to the backlog? Do you consider it as an interesting feature?
