Build ID: 20130730113002

Steps to reproduce:

Go to https://forums.oracle.com/message/11142014
click Reply link under some message,
type in the text area

Actual results:

The text is spell checked (wrongly spelled words are underlined), but context menu is lacking the "Check Spelling" item and the "Languages" submenu.

Expected results:

The mentioned spelling related items in the context menu should be available.

WFM with FF23 and FF25. Screenshot with FF25: http://i.imgur.com/Tpi3pYF.png

Could you test, please:

1) in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

2) with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Does it work as intended?

I checked with FF 22 and 23 on other PCs and it seems to work there.

Now I noticed that right clicking on some typed text behaves as expected (as on your screenshot), while right clicking in the empty area below the last text line does not. When above that area, the mouse pointer has the "pointer" form instead of the "I" form.

So I guess this is some complicated GUI that is relayouted "in the background" and those parts are not considered as "text area" by the browser.

Probably, yes.
