User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130806170643 Steps to reproduce: Auto-Update Firefox 23 Beta to 24 Beta. Actual results: On restart, the upgrade manager indicated that it's checking for addon updates. The checked (and mentioned) addons included addons I have disabled. Expected results: Don't check for updates of addons (both XUL and JEP) that were disabled, rather postpone that check until Firefox is completely running. This will reduce the amount of time an update consumes (at least for some users) and makes Firefox appear to be faster on version upgrade. That means that before the user can enable a JEP (restartless) addon, the addon needs to be updated. As for XUL (legacy) addons: they already need a restart for both updating and enabling, thus there's less of a problem to look out for.
STR addendum: You obviously need to have addons installed and at least some of them disabled. ;)
