What problems would this solve? =============================== It'd be nice to have shorter links to reference doc pages that bypass most of the site structure. While the structure is great organizationally, it can be a lot to type if you know exactly what you're looking for. Who would use this? =================== Power users. What would users see? ===================== We would need a way to establish these links; for example, we'd want to say that all pages under https://developer.mozilla.org/<locale>/docs/Web/HTML should be accessible through https://<some-short-url>/html/<elementname>. What would users do? What would happen as a result? =================================================== Users would then be able to get to, say, the <marquee> document at https://dev.mo/html/marquee. Much shorter and easier to remember for people that like to just type their URLs. Is there anything else we should know? ======================================
I think most people just go to google and type in mdn xxx 9or can now use our site search)?? Not sure how useful this would be when harly anyone uses actual URL's to find stuff....

This would be useful for people linking to our docs from elsewhere though. When I blog about things, it'd be nice to be able to type a short link formatted like this than to have to go look up the full URL.
