If you add a menulist using inline options with values that have non US characters in them, the values are set incorrectly in preferences.
Install the attached XPI and go to options. Change the menulist to be a non US string.
Go to about:config. Notice the preference extensions.menulistbug is blank for Japanese and Spanish and contains junk for Russian.

As of bug 1414406, inline settings are no longer supported.
