1. Title: Artist names of few songs are displayed in special characters, rather thanm original language 2. Precondition: Have a couple of songs in SD card 3. Tester's Action: 1. Copy Songs to device 2. Open Music player 3. Goto artist tab and see the name of the artist 4. Alternatively , this can be seen in songs tabs also. 4. Detailed Symptom (ENG.): Special characters are shown in Artist name 5. Expected : Artist/Album/Filename should be shown correctly. 6. Reproducibility: Y 1)Frequency Rate : 100% 7.Gaia Master/v1-train : Reproduced
Hi All, The issue can be reproduced in the attached songs(Please extract the rar files, it has 2 songs).

Jim, Alternatively, if you can confirm that this is an Asian encoding issue, maybe we can push back on the leo+ flag with the argument that it won't be an issue in our 1.1 markets.

Comment 9 is correct. The id3 tag in the bad mp3 is invalid and claims to be using latin-1 encoding, when it definitely isn't. Since we're not launching in Asia yet, this almost certainly doesn't need to block. In any case, it's a dupe of an earlier bug.

That said, while I don't think this should block (yet), I'll certainly help anyone who wants to implement this now, since it would be a nice thing to have for dogfooders in Asia.
