User Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 5.1) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.16 Steps to reproduce: I was trying to receive a SMS (Firefox 1.0.1.0) Actual results: Phone made no sound and no vibration. Expected results: Phone should make sound and vibration.
Update. Phone is using T-mobile operator. SMS send from other phone from T-mobile - no sound, no vibration. SMS send by T-mobile website - no sound, no vibration. SMS send via internet gate (not T-Mobile) - all OK. Phone sounds and vibrations are present.
Severity: normal → critical
Update 2. SMS from other operators - also without sound or vibration. Disabling vibration - still no sound.
Check Settings < Sound and check the Ringer & Notifications bar is turned up, and the vibrate button is ticked
Hey, I don't exactly remember how this used to work in 1.0.1, but we have this now for sure. I did a quick search and couldn't find the bug that possibly fixed it between 1.0.1 and 1.1. There should be no difference with how you send the SMS. However, there might be a difference whether the app is launched in background or not, and displayed or not. I think we had bugs about this at one point, and we even still have bug 915029 for a corner case. I think it's safe to consider that it's fixed in 1.1 (except for bug 915029), please reopen if you still see this after you upgrade to v1.1! Thanks a lot for your support :)
