User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/28.0.1500.71 Chrome/28.0.1500.71 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: 1. Have a login/password remembered for a website 2. Go to that website and change your password that it contains a "#" character. 3. Disconnect from that website 4. Go to login page & enter your ID and the newly created password 5. Firefox does not ask you to remember the password This problem occurres on my 2 Linux box: - Ubuntu 10.04 with Firefox 20.0 - Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox 23.0 Actual results: Firefox does not ask to remember the new password Expected results: Firefox should ask to remember the new password (replacing the actual remembered password with the new one).
Which website?
(In reply to Robert Longson from comment #2) > Which website? For example: https://panel.tuxfamily.org
Component: Untriaged → Password Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
Can you reproduce this in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Also, please provide debug logging using the instructions at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:Password_Manager_Debugging

I can't reproduce this issue and can't think of any reason why this would happen with the current codebase.
