I have a mailbox with 80 messages in it, giving the list pane a scrollbar.  I
have mail sorted descending by date.  When I first open the mailbox, the display
defaults to somewhere near the bottom of the list.  It should be starting at the
top of the list.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have enough mail in a mailbox to give you a scrollbar
2. Sort mail descending by date (newest mail at top of list)
3. Close mail component
4. Reopen and go to that mailbox

Actual Results:  The list display will start somewhere near the bottom of the
list...Typically it is 3 messages from the bottom.

Expected Results:  Start at the top of the list.

On Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010910,
the message list pane always comes up as one message from the top, regardless of
the direction of the sorting (I have 137 messages in my inbox), and regardless
of where my unread messages are.  Netsape 4.x had the behaviour that the pane
would center on the last unread message (which Mozilla is not doing either), but
I would prefer that it do what others have recommended and just plain remember
where it was last scrolled to.

This works now:
Since a few weeks you can choose "Remember the last selected message" in the
preferences. This makes always the same message appear.
If you don't select it, always the "top" is viewed (sort-wise, so if the newest
messages are at the bottom, the bottom of the list is viewed initially).
So commernter's wishes seem to be about fulfilled (it does not exactly remember
where it was scrolled to, but what the last selected message was).

Proposing WFM if nobody disagrees.
