Steps to reproduce: 1. Download and install build ftp://sweetlou.mcom.com/products/client/seamonkey/windows/32bit/x86/2001-07-13-0 6-0.9.2/N6Setup.exe ( or mozilla build for 7/13) 2. Check the QuickLaunch box expected results: N6/Mozilla will launch, icon in task tray, when click [x] in upper right hand corner- will be told QuickLaunch etc Actual results: N6/Mozilla launch but no icon in tray, a relaunch shows splash screen ( task manager shows it is not running in background after closing with [x]
the quicklaunch feature will not be setup until a reboot after the install has finished.

How do users know this? paw got a reboot message but I did not.
the reboot that paw got was independent of the quicklaunch (probably a file in use thing). Users will not know. There were issues with running turbo right after the install was done, so people/managers opted for this.

Blake, I saw your name on fixed QuickLaunch bugs-so please take a look at this. If I check QuickLaunch in the Installer, turbo is not launched. I must go to prefs and check advanced/quicklaunch is this the way it is supposed to behave?

I'm seeing this behavior too (using Win2k Trunk Build 2001081703). There was no icon in tray. I had to enable QuickLaunch from Prefs.
Grace, do you still see this problem?
yes- tried again today, turbo is not launched until I add the pref - then it is instantaneous- no reboot.

see bug 99340- branch only is still showing this problem - Sean is on it.
