Hi, Mozilla Build ID 2001062823 for Linux doesn't recognize the jre.xpi and flash.xpi plugins. I'm running Mandrake Linux 8.0 (Kernel 2.4.3). I've installed the tar.gz file in a user homedirectory (not as root in usr/local). The JRE and flash plugin was installed by the software installation (URL: file:). The software installation finished and I pressed the stop button (Mozilla was still downloading). JRE: in the ./mozilla/plugins directory a new java2 folder was created an the link to libjavaplugin_oji.so. Flash: new files in ./mozilla/plugins: libflashplayer.so and ShockwaveFlash.class About:plugin only shows the libnullplugin.so Seems to be the same bug as Nr. 66840. I've emailed wtanaka@yahoo.com but he wrote that he hasn't experienced this problem in recent builds. I might have run into a different bug that I should report. I've the same problems with Netscape 6.01. I suspect this is a dup of Bug 69167 or Bug 65055. Reporter, Take a look at those and see if the missing libXt.so problem applies to you.

I've installed XFree86-devel-4.0.3-7mdk.i586.rpm. Mozilla now recognizes the JR2 and Flash-plugin. Test for JR2-plugin with http://java.sun.com was negative. Test for Flash with http://www.eplus.de was the same. Mozilla hangs. Sites without Java or Flash are shown. For the java hangs problem, see bug 84093, especially the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 parts. Or upgrade to Sun's 1.3.1 java plugin from http://java.sun.com/
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 did not work. I've downloaded and installed the jre2 1.3.1 plugin from Sun's homepage (selfextracting binary j2re-1_3_1-linux-i386-rpm.bin). Then I created a link to /usr/java/jre1.3.1/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so. The java plugin is now recognized from Mozilla (Build ID: 2001062823) and works just fine :-) Pretty fast (no slowly loading etc. like in bug 84093). The Flash plugin now also works (www.eplus.de seems to be a site which uses both). Mandrake Linux 8.0 is a french distribution based on Red Hat Linux. This explanes the similar problem. Thanks a lot. With more recent distributions you may need to have a recent java distribution. Try Sun's 1.3.1, for instance. java and flash wfm flawlessly, nowadays.
