Steps to reproduce: 1. Load http://www.cs.hmc.edu/~jruderma/s/. 2. Click the link to http://www.plastic.com/ or press Alt+I to activate the link. 3. Right after the throbber pauses and the title bar text changes, close the window (Alt+F4 or bonk the X). Note: it doesn't matter whether the window you do this with is your only Mozilla window. Result: - In an 07/09 nightly, the window reappears for an instant a little bit after it "closed", and then disappears again. - In a debug build, I get three identical assertions about globalObject being null from nsWebShellWindow::ConvertWebShellToDOMWindow.
I tried this several times, using slightly different timing and methodology (X- bonking vs alt-F4), with a debug build made this morning. No assertions, no problems. Which is kind of surprising really; I expect troubles closing a window while it's loading. But shining colours happened instead.
