>>Project/Request Title: Photojournalist "badge of honor" for Summit >>Project Overview: We have a massive volunteer group of Mozillian photographers pooling their efforts to get us great Summit pictures. They have requested to have some kind of "photo badge" for the Summit. I was thinking it could be as simple as a cool Firefox photo sticker that we put on their existing badges. >>Creative Specs & Deliverables: We need a graphic that we can turn into a sticker (looking to the creative team to help with sizing on that.) Then instructions on how to take the graphic and turn it into a sticker. :) (Is that through Staples?) >>Launch Date: 2013-09-23 >>Creative Due Date: 2013-09-16 >>Mozilla Goal: Summit >>Points of Contact: Not provided
Hi Carmen, I'll be in touch on next steps for the sticker. Do you want the photo badge to follow the hexagon design of the Open Badge program? As for getting stickers produced, I can connect you with Staples and a few other sources so you can compare pricing and decide from there. Cheers, Jennifer
Due Date: 2013-09-23 → 2013-09-16
Thanks Jennifer, I hadn't thought about the "open badges" format - might as well be. :)
Carmen, Ty's going to take this on, and he'll have something for you by the end of the week. Cheers, Jennifer

Hi Ty. :) Ping. Checking in before the Monday due date for creative. :)
Created attachment 804689 [details] PhotoBadges_options.png Hey Carmen, Here are the options I came up with which follow the style and color scheme of the Summit. I tried to keep them simple and understandable. The first 3 use a camera's aperture as the design element, and the last 2 are camera's. Ty
Thanks Ty. These are really awesome...will leave the choice up to Carmen. Have either of you thought about adding text? Would kind of cool to have it read OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER or PRESS PASS or something like that (hopefully in a way that's integrated into the current designs...maybe as a border added around it or something).
I like the one with the cameras - that way it's obvious to any who see it, not just the photogs. :) I like the one with the darker colors personally, but could go with either. I like John's suggestion of "Official Photographer" text, if we can swing it.
Created attachment 805394 [details] PhotoBadges_options_2.png I tried both text approaches and "Press Pass" was the best fit for the icon. My favourite here is the top icon out of the 3 (hence its enlarged state)
Comment on attachment 805394 [details] PhotoBadges_options_2.png Your choice is my choice. With one thought - instead of "press" pass, can we say "photo pass"?
Thanks Ty - looks AWESOME! Jennifer - how do I go about getting 50 or so of these stickers for my photography volunteers?
Hi Carmen, I just sent you an email with the company I'd recommend to do just a small quantity of stickers. I'm going to resolve the bug. Thanks!

Quick question - does it matter that there's no logo on this image? I paused when I started to order the stickers, but I don't know if I'm over analyzing.

Hey Carmen, Please dont use that image for the stickers. Its a "for preview version" only.
Whew - glad we dodged that bullet. Can you upload the sticker-ready version? Also, what do you think about the logo on it?
Created attachment 805624 [details] Summit2013_PhotoPassBadge.eps.zip Here is a print-ready version of the badge. I have included a die-cut line which the printing company should use.
Will some of these be sent to the Site Lead and Co-Lead at each site?
Hi Benjamin, Can you send me an email? email@example.com - not sure this is bug-appropriate. I'd like to better understand what you're asking and if there is a specific need.
