It is currently not possible to export contacts from Firefox OS to a Bluetooth headset.

I don't understand this bug at all. What is exporting contacts to a Bluetooth headset?? exporting contacts to a bt earphone that the earphone can show contact information?

Hi Walter,

This was an issue reported on Mozilla-Hispano and I misunderstood what the user was saying. What he actually means is that he cannot export contacts to the Bluetooth device in his car, so his contacts are not listed.

The user is able to connect the phone to the Bluetooth device in the car, but the contacts from his phone do not show up on the device. To make calls using the hands-free device in his car, he has to dial the numbers manually on the device.

OK, that makes more sense now.

First of all, HFP 1.5 + OPP should be kind of working from FXOS v1.0.1. However, I can't confirm if this is a issue of not implemented the functionality or compatibility issues. Also, even if this OPP is ready, it only allows you to upload the contacts one by one.

If you want the car to access to the contact list automatically, that's PBAP and we are not going to be ready for it even in v1.2. It could be available in v1.3 or even later versions.

However, I am not sure if I understand this totally...
I am going to cc Eric Chou and block bug 828518 to see if they agree with me or explain this better.

Thanks for reporting this!

Like Walter mentioned, the reason that the user couldn't see contacts in his Bluetooth carkit is because we haven't implemented PBAP(Phone Book Access Profile) yet. As far as I can tell, PBAP will not be under the radar before FxOS v1.3. Please keep tracking Bluetooth profile supporting status of each version of FxOS in https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G/Bluetooth.
