I thought the maps were broken. It took me a while to notice that the "double click to interact" feature had landed (and I even knew about it ahead of time).
I think the tooltip should cover the area of focus, which is the map itself, as long as it takes a second to show up and goes away easily, IMHO it's better than it not being seen at all.
Right now it peeks out below in a small font with a white box that has no colored border.

I'm assuming your suggesting that it's something more like an overlay of sorts that will show inside the container itself rather than below?

Yes I think displaying the tooltip inside the container would an improvement, as long as it's not annoying.
I can't say exactly where the balance is for that, but I think as long as it doesn't cover a large portion of the map and disappears quickly when you mouse away, and disappears quickly when you double click, it would be worth the added intrustion versus people not noticing it at all and being unable to grab and adjust the map region.
An alternative if you think displaying inside the map container is too intrusive would be to give the tooltip more noticable styling, so adding a colored border, or bigger/bolder font

Yeah, I've thought about it, and I think I agree, an overlay isn't so bad, let's try it.
If we make sure it only happens on hover, and goes away quickly on double click, we should be good.

Yeah, this is loads better.
I also talked to Kate and she agreed we shoulkd try it. She has yet to see it, though, and either her or Cassie should take a quick look. I'll run it by one of them Friday.

It's a little odd with small containers, but I suppose we can fix that later.
