Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130803193103 Steps to reproduce: Phone: ZTE phone. Firmware: V1.01.00.01.019.120 I created one contact with two different phone numbers. Then I received several texts from each number. Actual results: It created two conversations. Expected results: EITHER: It creates only one conversation for the contact, independently of the phone number. This requires being able to choose the number when sending a text from the conversation. It can be done in different ways: - Ask which number every time when the contact has several numbers (probably a bit annoying), - Use the last one and implement possibility to change to which number to SMS is sent by clicking on the label and phone number line under the contact's name. OR, at least: In Messages tray, indicate in addition of the contact's name, the label of the corresponding phone number.
Summary: Group SMS through contact and not through phone number → Group SMS by contact and not by phone number

I think we're showing the corresponding phone number just below the contact name, unless you add a "carrier" information along with that phone number, and in that case we display that "carrier" information instead of the phone number. Unless both phone numbers have the same carrier information, and then we display the phone number. We made also a lot of fixes to this for 1.1, so maybe it's incorrect in 1.0.1, I don't exactly recall if the fixes are supposed to be in 1.0.1 but I fear it's not. Your first proposition is very interesting though, but has a lot of UX challenges as you're describing. I'm gonna ask advice from our UX master Ayman :-)

I'm gonna ask advice from our UX master > Ayman :-) This is not s bug. The app is behaving as specified and if we try to implement what the reporter is requesting as 'expected behaviour' on the send key we completely block ourselves on one of the paths to achieving the holy grail of 'group conversation' within MMS mode ...'Group conversation', though not without its difficulties, holds far *far* more value to the end user and is a function that we should return to solving and implementing in forthcoming versions. marking as WONTFIX
