Thunderbird 24 Beta 2 does not respect the reply-to header. Thunderbird 17 works as expected.

STR:

1. Get a mail with reply-to header
2. press the reply button.

expected:

there should be the mail address from the reply-to header in the "to"-field of the composition window.

actual result:

there is the recipients mail address in the "to"-field.

I am unable to reproduce on current trunk or current tb24 beta.
You may have caught a regression in the date range you indicated above.

I've the same issue. This is reproducible when the To: header does not contain your exact e-mail address.

Example 1:
 * you have e-mail [e-mail]
 * receive e-mail with To: [e-mail]; Reply-To: [e-mail]
 * 'Reply' button composes message to [e-mail] instead of [e-mail]

Example 2:
 * same as above but replace [e-mail] with [e-mail]

And I too can't repro this on TB 17.0.8.

Tested with 27.0a1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/27.0a1 ID: 20131008030203

To test:
- Open a draft
- Set the Reply-To to [e-mail] (for Gmail : [e-mail])
- Set the To to an address redirecting to your address (for Gmail : [e-mail])
- Send the email
- Go to Accounts settings
- In your default account, change the address to [e-mail]
- Once received, open the message you sent yourself
Results:
- The contextual reply button is Reply All
- When clicked, it replies to both the recipient and the Reply-To.
- When selecting Reply with the small arrow or clicking on the normal Reply button, it replies to the Reply-To.
Old results:
- The contextual reply button is Reply
- When clicked or clicking on the normal Reply button, it replies to the Reply-To.

The changes most likely happened with bug 250187.

But is it a bug?
I couldn't get the result shown in the screenshot.

so this and bug 918896 are a regression of bug 250187?
bug 933472 suggests a solution

Does it work with version 18, and fail with version 19?

After trying again, I've been able to reproduce what the reporter describes:

Example:
-------
Account email: [e-mail]
From: [e-mail]
To: [e-mail]
Reply-To: [e-mail]

Results:

-> Thunderbird 18: the smart reply button is "Reply", the To: of the reply email is set to [e-mail]
Thunderbird 19 ->: the smart reply button is "Reply", the To: of the reply email is set to [e-mail]
Thunderbird 28 ->: the smart reply button is "Reply", the To: of the reply email is set to [e-mail] and the Reply-To is set to [e-mail]

I am using 52.6.0 and when I get an email from an email list, Thunderbird uses the "From:" (rather than "Reply-To:") header to populate the "To:" when I hit `Reply` (command-R).

When I hit `Reply to all` it appears to use the "From:" and the "Reply-To:".

Here's some headers from an example message (with "FROM:" address redacted):
