For some reason the mics in the 7th floor common space are not projecting through the speakers.

There will be guys in here installing a ping pong table but if you can work around them it shouldn't be a problem.

That depends.  Will they be playing ping-pong?  You know, like Forrest Gump style, where they stand 6 feet away from the table and use wide swings?  Because that could put a damper on things.
