>>Project/Request Title: FFx OS Demo Carts >>Project Overview: * Brand the carts used during the summit to demo Ffx Os phones. The Demo team will be demoing 20 phones in each location throughout the summit. We've sourced the carts and as part of the purchase they will brand them how we would like them. We need to provide the design files to them by Monday, September 16th. >>Creative Specs & Deliverables: I have attached the specs and a picture of the carts to this bug. Kristin/John/Tara/Jen are in the loop with the branding requirements for this. There will be 9 carts in total. 6 of them need to be branded with the Ffx Os branding. The last three will be used for video capture for the summit and should be branded with 2013 Summit branding. We will need to provide both design files to them no later than Monday, September 16th. I'm happy to discuss further - please let me know what else you need. >>Launch Date: 2013-10-04 >>Creative Due Date: 2013-09-16 >>Mozilla Goal: Summit + Firefox OS >>Points of Contact: ARRAY(0x7f04f19b2698)

Specs included at bottom of pdf. Pictures included as well. These are the specs the company sent us - please let me know if you need additional information. Thank you! Amie
Just so I'm clear, the goal is to decorate these carts with the Firefox OS look & feel?
Yes. That is the goal for 6 of the carts. We also need Summit branding for look and feel of the 3 of the other carts.
Yes. Amie has stickers (or are they magnetic sheets?) planned (do you need further support on that, Amie?) and we'll use the same sign-up process we're using for demonstrators to get a crew to set up and tear down the carts.

Hey Amie, Will we need 9 unique designs for the carts? Or will it be one Firefox OS specific design that will be used on those 6 carts and one Summit specific design for those three carts?
I think given timing - one specific design for for Ffx OS on all 6 carts and one specific for Summit on the additional three would work nicely. (If the creative team is wanting to do additional designs, then 2 unique ffx os designs is more than enough. we have two carts per location each could have one of the designs. Each location would have two carts with the two designs) Does that help? (In reply to Jennifer Balaco from comment #5) > Hey Amie, > > Will we need 9 unique designs for the carts? Thanks, Amie. That does help.
Hey Amie, Matt is going to be working on design. The focus will be on getting two great designed: one Firefox OS and one Summit design. Cheers, Jennifer

Thank you Jennifer. That is perfect. Matt, let me know what else you need from me, if anything. Thanks again, Amie
Will Cart-King be setting up the final creative for us? They dont seem to offer any templates for us to work with on their website. For the time being we can create a low-res mockup using a photo of a cart, and then probably provide color specs and individual hi-res artwork for them to piece together.
Amie, can you advise on comment #10? To expand on what Ty wrote, the pdf does include certain details on the sizing of the various placements, but having an actual template from Cart-King that we could work from would make this project go much faster (and probably more smoothly as well). Alternately, we can do the low-res mockup that Ty proposed if that would work for them. Building our own templates based on the schematic in the pdf will likely be time-prohibitive in this case, though.
I'm talking with Brianna about this now. That was all the company sent over as "specs" - and I'm not sure they have templates. That said, I am working on getting clarity around this now. Hang tight - more shortly. And, thank you both for helping get this done.

Hi everyone, As John and Ty mentioned, I've gone ahead and created a low-res mockup which will give an idea of how the final product may look like. Ideally having a template would help ensure that the each graphic is positioned properly, specifically for the odd shaped side....but based on the dimensions provided in the PDF, I can set up the print ready Illustrator files and have the printer add the finishing finesse needed to match the mockup positioning. But before all that, let me know what you think of the layouts :) Thanks! Matt
Thanks Matt. This is looking good. Two quick thoughts from me: 1. on the FxOS one, is it possible to have any of the tail on the roof of the cart? If that would be awkward I don't think it's a deal-breaker, but it would be a nice element. (Also, I don't think we need the logo on the same panel as the fox here.) 2. on the Summit one, I notice you're using the small hexagon pattern on the side. We've actually been using larger hexagons with simpler patterns in a lot of other places. I'll show you some in the office today. (Also, we should make sure we're using the logo lockup that has Mozilla in it.) Amie, will this level of detail suffice for the vendor?
These look great. I was also going to comment about the Summit logo and making sure it was the one with Mozilla. As well as comment about the smaller vs larger hexagons. Overall, looking great! so fun to see them come to life!
Loving this, and loving the idea of the fox tail on the roof of the cart! Amazing! Yes - we have confirmed that this level of detail will suffice - they will work with the files as is. We do need to get them sent over this afternoon at the latest. Assuming that works, let me know when it's ready and I'll send it over to Cart King. Thanks, Amie

Thanks guys! I've updated the mockup with the suggestions for both. If this round can be considered final. I can create a couple Illustrator files with the print ready assets.

Love them! They look awesome. Amie, will we get a proof or anything from the company?
I am going to request that we do, particularly given they didn't have templates. I'll send over the illustrator files when we have them and request a proof early next week. Will post to bug when we get one.

Amie, I've attached two separate Illustrator files, which include all the elements needed along with the pantones for the main colours.
Perfect, thank you very much. I will send them over now! Exciting!

Hi All, We've gotten the proofs back for the design on the carts. I need to get this turned around asap - so please take a look and let me know if there are any flags. Thanks, Amie

This seems right to me. Matt, can you give final confirmation?
Flags: needinfo?(jslater)
These look good to me but as John said Matt will need to give final confirmation.

Looks good to me...other than a minor issue with how the cloud is being mirrored on the right side panel of the Summit cart. Not a deal breaker for me, just thought I'd mention it.

I have a few concerns around the Firefox OS cart 1 - There are several details within the fox that are missing 2 - Drop shadow on the Firefox logo is incorrect 3 - The logo looks incorrect too Here is a comparison of the fox between the proof and what it's supposed to look like: http://cl.ly/image/1e2u000u1B0u

Good catches, thanks Ty.
I will take that feedback back to them. *IF* they can't get there, is it a deal breaker? What's the usual protocol at that point? Sending feedback over now.... thank you!
Heya - heard back from cart king. They are thinking this is a conversion issue on their end. They have asked for us to send over vector files by 8am PST tomorrow. (hoping that works for Matt given he is EST). In chatting with Slater, it sounds like this is the fastest and easiest option. That said - if for some reason that doesn't work (easily) they have also now sent us over a template to use. (I know...)I've attached that here in case it's needed -- but hoping the vector file will work. Please let me know if you have questions - need anything else. Thank you.

Only if needed.

Thanks Amie, I've talked with some of the creative team, and we thought it would be a good idea to work with the template they provided us. So I have gone ahead and positioned the graphics to match their original example. Here are the links to 3 files for each (.ai .eps .pdf) plus links to each proof. Thanks Matt!!
Matt you are amazing - apologies for all the extra work on this. I know it was alot, and appreciate it! I sent them over as I was running out my door - so they have the files and are working away. We will make magic out of something that we have. :-) Thanks again, Amie
