Our #1 support request is from developers who report that their wait time is listed as unknown, with instructions to ask us for an estimate. At least one developer has reported that they initially had an estimate of 1 week, which later changed to say unknown. Some examples: Place PirateFox ConnectA2 There is a separate bug (Bug 8826864) to provide a more accurate waiting time estimation. The purpose of THIS bug is only to ensure that the estimation never says "unknown you should TOTALLY EMAIL US ABOUT THIS." =]
That would be Bug 882864, I mean.
What should we say instead? Not tell them or say something else?
If you can't fix why it sometimes says unknown, instead it would be better to say: Estimated wait time: unknown. Most apps are reviewed in about a week. If your review has taken longer than this, you can send an email to email@example.com to check the status.
