Something like |adb shell b2g-launch Camera| would be extremely useful and happy-making.

I have now been developing such an application. It is a python 2.7 command line utility that one can use e.g. via

'ffdb.py launch Camera'

The application is implemented in a single portable python file, so it should be easy to embed into other environments/projects. See the utility here: https://github.com/kripken/emscripten/pull/2333
