918113 - Update homepage with copy edits

Janet will be copy editing the homepage in bug 918111. After that work is done, we will need to implement her changes.

This is nearly ready. I am just waiting for Robert on one thing. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=918111#c3 for everything we can do until then.

Copying every change Janet suggested here.

* The number of contributors is an order of magnitude higher than the figure that Luke gave me (3,414). This is supposed to be contributors in the last year. "All contributors ever" is not a meaningful number.
* Contribute to MDN: If it's not too late, I'd like to change this button text to "Help improve MDN". "Contribute" sounds like we're asking for financial donations.
* No period after "Shared knowledge for the Open Web". I sent other suggestions to openjck via email.

And as I said, there is one last change -- we are waiting on Robert to decide what to do about the Developer Program promo.
