Steps to reproduce
1. Go to www.youtube.com or any other site that uses plugins
2. Notice the blue brick icon that appears in the URL bar
3. Hover it
Results:
This will make the icon disappear. My assumption is that this is a bug.
Tested with:
* Retina MacBook Pro using the latest OS X: 10.8.5
* Clean Firefox profile

It should be fixed in FF 25 and up
