(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #0) > side question: does Mailnews Core include product "Thunderbird" in its search? no it doesn't. the data for it is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/extensions/GuidedBugEntry/web/js/products.js in the "related" array. possible-duplicates does a mysql full-text search on the bug summaries, and sorts by relevance DESC then bug_id DESC. 917955 is matched by the query, but with a low relevance pushing it off the list (it's the 20th result). i suspect the query should bump the relevance for open bugs, but may be difficult to do in a cross-database way.
Is age, or last change date, also a factor in determining relevance?
