>>Project/Request Title:
Flip Book Short video for Summit

>>Project Overview:
collect as many logos for projects, both products/services and Mozilla people projects, make a quick moving flip-book like slide show with awesome drumming music running. It can range from 5-10 seconds and should communicate that we built A LOT of stuff, we don't fear itteration, we end of life stuff to move forward we make things all the time. So I should feel like "hey, we've built a lot of stuff, we can keep doing that so the new goals don't feel so scary."

Thanks Dia. We're on it. Can you clarify on the timing though? 5-10 seconds seems *really* short...almost like it would be over before people realize it's happening.

Assigning to Spencer, although Sean, we will need your help compiling logos (as discussed on email).

yes- sorry, you're right. I just think it wont' need to be more than 20 seconds. It's an igniter, not a story. Right?
Noted and understood. We will focus on ignition.

BLOW IT UP SPENCER!
Quick update - Sean has handed off the first batch of logos so Spencer can start playing around with the animation. We'll need to add a few more before it's final, but it's enough to get started.

Dia, my thought is that we could start with the Mozilla logo and end on the Summit logo, and of course show a bunch of others in between. Sound ok?

Also, Dia, another question for you - is there any particular music or style of music you'd like to use here? Is this an intro for Jay or someone else? Spencer and I were wondering about that yesterday.

Thanks!
Thanks John:

two answers:
1) Start/end with Mozilla logo: YES!!!!

2) Music: no lyrics. I would love to hear just like drumming. Drumline, Taiko, Tommy Lee- something powerful and rad.
help?
Hi Dia,

This is what I've come up with, I was able to find some Taiko style drum line which helps with the flashing of the logo.

Let me know what you guys think.

Spencer, AWESOME work on this! I really love how this is turning out...especially the way you timed the logos to the music so well.

A few thoughts on how to polish it up:
- the prominent pause on the add-ons logo right before the Summit one doesn't feel right to me...would rather end on something else there. Sean has a few other logos he needs to round up and add (Thunderbird & Webmaker both come to mind). Sean, can you send those to Spencer? My sense is that one of those would probably be better to end on.
- how do we feel about the black background?
- depending on the answer to the above, we should adjust the Summit logo accordingly...don't really like having it on the white panel on top of the black background.

Thanks again!
Eyyyyy (Fonzie thumbs) Lookin' gooood!

Although... it felt like my Mozilla life was flashing before my eyes. I started to panic but then realized the light I was seeing was just the monitor.

FEEDBACK! I'm not art directing here, but.. no, yeah, maybe a little bit:

- let's try charcoal instead of black. Softens it a bit and you get to see all the hawt shadow detail on the logos.
- I placed the current logos on the left and what I'd like to replace them with on the right.
- once those are in, there might be order changes depending on what ones we want to see for a longer pause in your current flow, but that might be too much direction (tell me. I can take it.)
- the way you have them going to the beat is awesomesauceTM.
- expect the team of Replacement Logos to be included in a zip on the bug here momentarily.

Kickass!

Enjoy!

Hi Guys,

a few points:

Sean, I think these are not ALL yours, but beautiful stuff. Kinda neat to see it all in one "sentence".
Spencer- i LOVE the timing with the music. and, the music choice is PERFECT!
I'll differ to all others for the art direction- just know that this is exactly the feeling I was going for. I just showed it to a friend and he said "wow, it's like you take a lot of pictures to get one good shot. You guys make a lot of products to get the ones that work." LOVE that he got exactly what we were going for. Great.
Well, Thunderbird was the only one not done by me. The rest are my 2006-present logos.

Considering that, should we go hunting for a few of the older ones from pre-2006? Maybe Fennec, Firebird, etc?
Na. Lock it down. the point gets across, and that's what matters.

onward.
Sounds like we have a plan.

Spencer, can you add the revisions called out by Sean in comments 8, 9 and 10 and then share a new version?
Thanks for the feedback guys, here are the list of changes I've made:

-Mozilla logo have been changed to white.
-Charcoal background has replaced the black.
-Older logos have been switched to the new ones Sean sent.
-Summit 2013 logo now has a all white back ground.
