At the moment you have to use black magic to have any hope of using the Object Actor in inspector code.

At the Paris MeetUp Dave Camp started simplifying this process and this is blocking us adding an Object Inspection panel, hence this bug.
Mike, if it's still a problem can you expand on it a bit? I think VariablesView is easily pluggable everywhere now.
