User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/29.0.1547.65 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Just observing signal ratio bars on my Keon device. Actual results: Signal ratio is ALWAYS less than 3 of 5 bars (even when resonably next to the GSM antenna of my GSM vendor). Mobile data protocol (HDSPA, EDGE, GPRS, UMTS) is changing accordingly to the low level signal and no stable situation is reached (always changing, a lot of times in a couple of minutes whithout changing position). Expected results: Expected a stable situation in mobile data protocol: at one time there is no need to change protocol when position does not change, signal is good and network is working with used bandwidth. Excepected signal ratio to be graphically represented in a correct way (full usage of the 5 bars). Signal ratio is a logarithmic function, not linear: maybe this is the key.
Other informations: Image: 1.0 prerelease or 1.1 prerelease (tested until 2013-09-13) of Geeksphone Keon (all versions) Forum posts: http://forum.geeksphone.com/index.php?topic=5427.0
Component: General → Gaia::System
Addendum: enabling the wifi the signal bar adds a couple of levels. It seems that wifi enabled improves the SNR quality.
In branch 1.2 the SNR level monitor is now ok.
