Steps to reproduce:

The multi-tasking-view (application-manager) should not only be started by tap-and-hold the home-button, but also with a swipe from the bottom edge up to the screen (similar like the swipe from the top down to the screen opens the notification-area).

I support that. It would make it faster and easier to access the app-switcher.

I agree that there should be an easy to remember, quick to use gesture for fast activation of the app-switcher. And because the swipe from the bottom up into the display isn't used for something else yet, this would be the perfect gesture for this often used feature.

And it would also be very consistent, when in the near future there will be the planned gesture implemented for switching between open apps with a swipe from the edges. To make the app-switcher appear with a swipe from the bottom edge would be very consistent and logical.

I may be wrong, but the gesture bottom edge up to the screen is already used for quitting the app (go back home screen). It can be enabled in developers settings under "home gesture enabled".

I think this bottom edge up to the screen gesture should be used to quit the app (go back to home screen) because this allow a fully functional navigation without the need of a bottom bar with the home button (for device with no physical back button). So we gain screen space and everything can be done through gestures.

Bottom edge up to the screen gesture is a very accessible gesture (very easy to do) so it should be used for a frequent task. The app-switcher will be less frequently used that go back home, especially since we already have right/left edge to switch app.

Concerning the app-switcher gesture, as we have no more edge, we could do like on the Ipad (IOS7) where a 3 or 4 finger pinch displays the app-switcher.
