RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 935519

People

(Reporter: ineedalifetoday, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130917123208

Steps to reproduce:

CTRL+F

Actual results:

The " Highlight / Match Case / 'X' " is now on the other side of the screen.

Expected results:

It should be like it was in Firefox24, having those three buttons right next the the arrows or whatever. Moving those three buttons to the other side of the screen is unacceptable. Now I have to move my mouse to the other side of the screen on my 1080p 40inch monitor. This is unacceptable. Don't be like Microsoft and remove the Start button.
I agree, this can only be described as an 'epic fail' of a user interface regression. I really think it should get reverted before Firefox 25 hits release.

What was the UX rationale for the repositioning of these buttons?
Component: Untriaged → Find Toolbar
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
Not only is the positioning wrong, the "search next" and "search previous" options (alt-n and alt-p) have disappeared. There now is no possibility to go to the next occurence of what you are looking for.
Please bring those shortcuts back.

That's bug 932643.
