Details
When I set layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled=true in the latest Win64 Nightly build, the downloads button doesn't display anything when I click it. The button's graphic changes to the depressed state, but nothing else is displayed. When I toggle layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled back to false, the downloads button works correctly.

The same goes for the menu button (since Australis landed).

Maybe the description of the bug can be changed? It is not only the download button, but also the bookmark button and the menu button.
I can confirm that the download button, bookmarks button, and the hamberger menu button do not work (do nothing when clicked) when layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled is set to true in 28.0a1 12/03/13 for both 64 and 32 bit builds in Windows 7 64 bit.

I see this as well on today's 32-bit Nightly, on x64 Windows 7 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 and the latest drivers (331.93). Going to have to keep OTMC disabled until this is fixed, since these buttons are kind of important. Nick, CCing you since you just blogged about turning OTMC on by default on Nightly.
Summary: Downloads button doesn't work correctly when layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled=true → Downloads, bookmarks and menu button don't work correctly when layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled=true

this patch has not landed in the m-c Nightly stream, only on the m-i as an hourly at the moment.
Not sure if turning on the pref before this patch is not part of the problem.

Just went back to latest m-c hourly, and the buttons still WFM with the pref enabled manually , and restart of the browser.

Hmm, maybe win8 only ?

Hmm, bug 943204 merged to central a few hours ago, perhaps that fixed it (will have to try it out).
Manually enabled in Nightly 28.0a1 (2013-12-04)
GPU Accelerated Windows: 1/1 Direct3D 11 (OMTC)
issue seems solved, social services Facebook, security info, identity info and plugin info all work for me now.

For future reference, anything caused or prevented by a pref with 'layers' in the name should go in the graphics:layers component, that way the people who can fix it will see it. Thanks!
