On Edit page /user/edit#account we should add a tooltip icon with instruction people should input there username only not whole link in account section, I saw lot of profile on mozillians where people are including whole url instead of just username like github.com/swarnava instead of Swarnava check screenshot

we can use this method on account section too
FYI, I have made changes to my account to work-around this issue. However, this is still a very persistent bug. Especially the "Mozilla Support" & "Skype" section doesn't show up as a link as well. Also, the External Accounts section looks very untidy, could use some CSS love as well.
SUMO currently don't support the username in user profile URLs. We have bug 882426 to implement that. once it will land, we can fix it with Bug 919976
We're now validating user input and prevent users from adding urls when only usernames are expected. Marking this one WFM, thanks for filing :Swarnava

Reopening: Suggestion, the term "identifier" isn't very concise. Should we change this to account name as well as give an example in a tooltip? Lastly, a user can still enter a url, simply leaving off the http: or https: allows a user to accidentally enter the incorrect account details.

I was looking at this bug and had a few questions: 1. I don't see either of Matt's points addressed and since it's still working this way, I was wondering if anything should be done: -Suggestion, the term "identifier" isn't very concise. Should we change this to account name as well as give an example in a tooltip? -Lastly, a user can still enter a url, simply leaving off the http: or https: allows a user to accidentally enter the incorrect account details. 2. Doesn't seem user friendly that you only see the red message (see Matt's attachment 8446194 [details]) displayed AFTER clicking Update. Has this ever been brought up? I searched for a bug on this, but wasn't able to find one.
