Steps to reproduce:

running 64bit Windows 8, have 'remember' passwords selected and no websites are in the Exceptions list.


Actual results:

When the browser is shut down than then returned to a website that requires a log in, the username and password is blank...


Expected results:

Firefox should be remembering usernames and passwords.

Could you test:

1) in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

2) with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Does it fix your issue?

1) attempted in safe mode no change.  Will not remember my passwords

2) deleted my default profile and then attempted.  Same result, will not remember my username or passwords.

Does it happen on all websites with login?

Do you have some 3rd-party applications doing the same job that could interfer with Firefox? (password manager app)

Does it not remember any password, or only on certain sites.  Some sites specifically ask for form fields not to be saved by the browser.

this happens on all websites, and only after I upgraded to version 24.  Now that I have installed the latest Beta 25 and it still does not remember any sites.

I am not using any password management software, it was working before I upgraded to version 24, I noticed it immediately after.

Hello Simon,

Are you still experiencing this problem? If so, could you give examples of websites where the password is not saved? Can you also check the security section of Firefox options to make sure that "Remember passwords for sites" is checked and none of the sites in question are in the exception list.

Thanks for the reminder.  After a windows 8.1 update the issue has resolved itself.  FF now remembers my passwords, I did not change any settings inside of FF.

But...it works now..
