Description:
The keyboard associated to the message textbox of the Messaging app can flicker on and off, preventing the user from entering text.

Repro Steps:
1) Update Buri to Build ID: 20131009004001
2) Launch the messaging app
3) Tap the New Message icon or a conversation.
4) Tap the Message textbox and observe the keyboard's reaction.

Actual:
The keyboard appears and disappears repeatedly, leaving the user unable to enter text.

Expected:
The keyboard appears and stays visible until dismissed.

The user can tap the Home button then relaunch Messaging and it may solve the current occurrence.

I just checked latest master on Unagi and I am not seeing this

The Alcatel one-touch I have appears to be non-functional, so I can't check on that device. I have not observed this behaviour on either an unagi or inari device.

The keyboard flashing started on the Buri 1.3 10/10 build.

The regression window here isn't right - the bug was filed to reproduce on 10/9 1.2 build. Check with the reporter on the STR and retest the regression window.

Don't think it's possible to get a regression window here, this issue is extremely intermittent (20% repro rate per comment 0)
I've tried different scenarios: initiating SMS from Messages, from Contacts--> Messages, from E.me --> Messages, on freshly flashed device, after rebooting, after resetting, having SMS threads, without SMS threads, having other apps running in the background, music, browser, etc.. relaunching Messages after left device idle, killing app and then relaunching... had no luck to reproduce this bug

I've also talked to reporter, if the issue still repros for him, he didn't see it happening on recent builds as well..

Can the bug still be reproduced on the original build this was filed against?

Tried, nope, does not repro for me on the 10/09 build either.
Will keep an eye on that, will grab a logcat if hit the issue, unfortunately there is nothing else i can do at this point...

Closing as incomplete as we don't have the accurate STR to move forward at this point. Reopen if you get better STR to reproduce this again.
